Identity Series: Accessibility for All – Pathways for Inclusion in Technology
3 - 4 p.m. PSTVirtual Event
Technology is not sustainable if it is not inclusive. How do we build technologies and maintain workplace and academic cultures that champion and enable the use and development of accessible technology for all?
This panel session will provide practical answers from a diverse group of disability advocates and thought leaders who have developed technologies, led large-scale accessibility initiatives for academia and industry, sustained and built cultures of inclusion, and accessible designs, supported policy, and shifted the conversations surrounding this topic in innovative ways.
This event will highlight what accessibility and disability is, why accessible technologies are important, and how they impact lives. Panelists will describe barriers to access; tips and lessons learned; policy issues, and creating a lasting culture while extending their expertise to our next generation of computer scientists, and industry partners.
