Join social anthropologist, Massoume Price, as she introduces the customs and traditions of the Iranian New Year, also known as Nowruz. Price will share different aspects of Nowruz, including its history and symbolism, as well as highlight pre-Nowruz rituals, final day celebrations, and ways in which it is celebrated around the world. An active member of both the Iranian and the Canadian communities, Massoume Price has been living in Canada since 1981. She is a social anthropologist born in Iran and educated in Iran and the United Kingdom, London University, Kings and University Colleges. Since 1995, she has devoted all her time to researching Iranian culture. Her many articles and books published in Canada and the USA on different aspects of Iranian culture, such as different ethnic groups, rituals, festivals, codes of behavior, etc., have attracted a large audience.
