GLS: Academic Communication & Collaboration Section 1 – Summer 2021

1 - 2:30 p.m. PDT, Wednesdays and Fridays

Events hosted by Northeastern’s West Coast Global Learner Support (GLS) are only open to Northeastern students and staff/faculty.

This free, non-credit course provides multiple opportunities for students to improve presentation skills with additional support in listening and speaking for both academic and professional settings. Class meetings will involve delivering academic presentations and facilitating in-depth, topic-based discussions. By actively engaging in the coursework, students will strengthen their communicative skills. This course will be delivered virtually and a link to join the class will be emailed the day before the first class.

Instructor:
Ruth MacKechnie is passionate about working with students and has taught ESL for over 30 years. She has run programs in Japan, Spain, England, New Zealand, Canada, and the U.S. Ruth has an MA in Education from the Open University in the U.K., a Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults from Cambridge University, and two BAs from the University of Washington.
