Partner Event: Vancouver Design Community – VDC Essentials: Presentation Skills
5:30-8:30 PM PTNortheastern University Vancouver campus - 410 W. Georgia St., Vancouver, BC
Join the Vancouver Design Community for their first VDC Essentials Workshop – Presentation Skills hosted at Northeastern University Vancouver.
This event is perfect for designers of all levels who are looking to become better communicators in their careers and in general. You have a stakeholder presentation – we got you covered. You have an interview with an exciting employer – say no more, we got you covered! How about just a presentation at work? This event will have you covered.
In order to deliver a great event, we partnered with David Kohler, an expert who will share some strategies on how to craft a great presentation! Here’s a quick bio:
David (he/him) is an educator, mathematician and leadership trainer who empowers professionals to maximize their impact. As principal of Metonomy, he helps leaders, designers, coaches, and facilitators create more meaningful human experiences by developing metaskills – the ability to amplify one’s skills, expertise and experience through social awareness, storytelling, engagement design, facilitation and more.
As per VDC’s mission to engage the community, after David’s presentation on presentation strategies, you’ll have the opportunity to team up with other community members. Your task will be to create a pitch for a silly idea and present your solution in front of everyone to practice some of those skills. If you crush your presentation, you may or may not get a small prize too!
