Wednesday, February 7 | 10:00-11:00 AM – Do Machines Really Learn?
Speaker: Qurat-ul-Ain Azim, Assistant Teaching Professor, Northeastern University – Vancouver
This session will dissect the idea of machine learning. We’ll develop our step-by-step intuition about what it means to learn patterns and behaviours from given data. This interactive session includes: insighful discussions, chalk-talk, and hands-on activities. Attendees will receive some sample code to run on their own, allowing them to develop a sense of operating a basic machine learning model.
